Headline newsWOSU 820 AM’s OPEN LINE TO FEATURE PRESIDENT GEEOSU President E. Gordon Gee will be a guest on WOSU 820 AM’s Open Line
on Wednesday (12/12). He will appear during the 10-11 a.m. hour and discuss
education in America and goals for Ohio State. Individuals with specific questions
they’d like to ask Gee are encouraged to visit www.youtube.com/group/WOSUask between now and Tuesday (12/11). Some of the questions will be posed to him
during the broadcast. The public is invited to be a part of the studio audience
during the live broadcast. There is no charge to attend, but seating is limited.

CARMEN UPDATES ON THE WAY DEC. 14-17Carmen will be unavailable from 7 p.m. Friday (12/14) until 7 a.m. Monday
(12/17) for a system upgrade. When service returns, Carmen will offer several
new features, including enhancements to the Grades, Discussion, Content, and

tour. Contact: carmen@osu.edu NOMINATE OUTSTANDING OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT PROJECTS FOR AWARDSOhio State nominations are invited for the regional Outreach Scholarship W.K.
Kellogg Foundation Engagement Award. Two of these projects will be submitted
by President E. Gordon Gee for this regional award. Regional winners will receive
$9,000 and be eligible for the NASULGC C. Peter Magrath Engagement Award. The
national winners will receive an additional $20,000. Apply

that summarizes the engagement partnership. See information on last year’s award nominees. MARION CAMPUS HOSTS HOLIDAY CONCERT DEC. 13As part of the Five Nights on Campus series at the Ohio State Marion campus,
the Central Ohio Symphony will perform a holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday
(12/13) in Morrill Hall Auditorium. It will include seasonal favorites, light
classics and holiday music from different cultures. Marion campus faculty and

Outreach Scholarship Conference 2008: Innovation and Leadership for Engagement,
to be held Tuesday (10/7/08)-Thursday (10/9/08) at Penn State University. The
deadline to apply is Monday (2/25/08). Submission requirements and selection
criteria are available online at www.outreachscholarship.org/. The conference
is co-sponsored by Ohio State, and the universities of Georgia, Alabama, North
Carolina State, Michigan State and Wisconsin-Extension/UW Colleges. BLOOD DRIVE SET FOR DEC. 6 AT BLANKENSHIPThe OSU Department of Public Safety is sponsoring a Red Cross Blood Drive from 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday (12/6) in 1019 Blankenship Hall.
