Headline newsVIDEO GAMES TRANSPORT REHAB PATIENTS TO LINKS, BALLPARKSRehabilitation patients at the OSU Medical Center are golfing and bowling
their way back to health through therapists’ innovative use of a video
game system to supplement their prescribed exercises. Rehabilitation professionals
recently began using the system to assist patients in working on visual and
cognitive skills, problem solving, balance, coordination, and upper- and lower-body
strength and endurance. Patients using the system typically are recovering
from strokes, spinal cord injuries or traumatic brain injuries, but another
benefit is that it can really cover a large base of diagnoses, said Robbie
Winget, a rehabilitation occupational therapist overseeing use of the system
at Ohio State’s Dodd Hall Rehabilitation Hospital. Read

more > FACULTY/STAFF BOWL TICKET LOTTERY OPENS TODAYThe faculty/staff ticket lottery may only be entered by those who purchased,
and were eligible for, faculty/staff season or split season tickets for the
2007 season. All lottery entries must be submitted online at www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com
between 9 a.m. today (12/7) and 5 p.m. Monday (12/10). Game
tickets for faculty or staff will cost $175 (plus a $25 processing fee per
order). Each faculty or staff may enter the lottery for two tickets. Credit
cards will be charged for those who are successful in the lottery on Wednesday

their issues. RSVP by calling 975-9449; maximum capacity for the event is 30. OSU LIMA ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR WINTER, SPRING PRODUCTIONSThe Ohio State Lima Department of Theatre will hold auditions for both the
winter and spring theatre productions from 7-10 p.m. Tuesday (12/11) in Reed
Hall. Callbacks will be from 7-10 p.m. Wednesday (12/12). The winter production
is “Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead.” The spring production
is “Fiddler on the Roof.” Sign up sheets for the general auditions
will be posted in 130 Reed Hall. Scripts and suggested song literature are
on reserve at the Lima Campus Library in Cook Hall. Fiddler auditioners should
come with a prepared monologue and a song, preferably from Fiddler on the Roof.
Rosencrantz auditioners need only a monologue. Auditions are limited to two
minutes for text and three minutes for songs. Contact: (419) 995-8382 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HELP PROVIDE TAX HELPOSU Extension/University District, a member of the Franklin County Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition, is looking for volunteers to help hard working low- and moderate- income families prepare their taxes and receive refunds. Experience in preparing taxes is a plus, but training will be provided. OSU Extension, in collaboration with the Fisher College of Business and Moritz College of Law, has been actively involved in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites at Godman Guild and OSU's African/African-American Studies Extension Center over the past few years. Schedules are flexible and tax sites are typically open in the evenings and on the weekends for four hours at a time.
