Headline newsDeveloping a Scarlet, Gray and Green campusFrom increasingly energy efficient buildings to campus buses that run on biodiesel, evidence that the OSU campus is turning green is all around us. Aparna Dial, Ohio State's director of Energy Services and Sustainability, says the university is taking a "three-pronged approach" to greater energy efficiency: metering buildings to determine how much energy is being used, conducting energy audits during which the university replaces inefficient energy systems, and implementing environmentally friendly projects such as the football game day recycling program. Nominations sought for Distinguished Service AwardsNominations are due Monday (12/15) for the 2009 Distinguished Service Awards, established in 1952 to recognize individuals who have served Ohio State in truly outstanding fashion. Honorees will be approved by the Board of Trustees and notified in early spring. Awards will be presented at commencement ceremonies for spring, summer and autumn ’09, and winter ’10.
