Headline newsOSU Marching Band selected for Inaugural ParadeThe Ohio State Marching Band will just have time to recover its collective breath following the Fiesta Bowl on Monday (1/5/09) in Phoenix before heading to the nation’s capital to participate in the 56th Presidential Inaugural Parade on Tuesday (1/20/09). The band was chosen after a rigorous application process, which included submission of a resume, video and recommendations from state officials to the Presidential Inaugural Committee in Washington, D.C. Ford rep to discuss Re-Electrification of the Automobile Dec. 10Ohio State faculty and researchers are invited to a seminar on the (Re) Electrification of the Automobile, from 4-5:30 p.m. Wednesday (12/10) in E100 Scott Laboratory. Michael A.Tamor, executive technical leader, Hybrid and Fuel Cell Vehicle Research at Ford Motor Company, will discuss how the re-electrification of the automobile is enabled by progress in battery technology, but may itself enable revolutions in the nature and the economics of personal transportation. All tickets purchased will need to be picked up by the original ticket holder in Arizona. Pick up dates and locations will be determined closer to the bowl game. USAC to sponsor Hidden Benefits Fair Dec. 10The University Staff Advisory Committee is sponsoring the 14th annual Hidden Benefits Fair from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday (12/10) in the French Field House. The Hidden Benefits Fair has grown each year with attendance exceeding 2,000 staff last year. Admission is free and discounted hot dogs and soda will be available.
