Headline newsOSU's CBSCR awarded $6 million in NIH contracts for spinal cord injury researchThe National Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke recently awarded two contracts totaling $6 million to OSU's Center for Brain and Spinal Cord Repair to perform training and replication studies in the field of spinal cord injury. The contracts will run between 2008-2013 and are lead by CBSCR Director Phillip Popovich and Dana McTigue. Other investigators involved include Lyn Jakeman (Physiology/Cell Biology), Michele Basso and John Buford (Physical Therapy), Sandra Kostyk (Neurology) and Stanley Lemeshow (College of Public Health). Evans to present Pharmacy Distinguished Lecture Dec. 15William Evans, director and CEO of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will present a College of Pharmacy Distinguished Lecture, “Pharmacogenomics of Acute Leukemia” at 11:30 a.m. Monday (12/15) in 103 L. M. Parks Hall. Evans holds the St. Jude Professorship and Endowed Chair at the University of Tennessee Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy and will receive an honorary degree from Ohio State during winter commencement on Sunday (12/14). The NCATE Unit Accreditation Board recently made its official decision to continue accreditation of the unit at Ohio State.
