Headline newsAT&T awards Ohio State $380,000 High School Success program grantAT&T Inc. on Wednesday (12/10) announced a four-year, $380,000 grant to the College of Education and Human Ecology’s Student Success Centers at Ohio State as part of the AT&T High School Success program to combat the nation’s high school dropout crisis. With the grant, the Student Success Centers will expand programs that provide academic mentoring, specialized counseling services, career/college advisement, and skills training for at-risk students to encourage scholastic development and increase graduation rates at Linden McKinley and South high schools, both in Columbus. The grant will help serve as many as 100 students at each school, and is part of the company’s signature initiative, AT&T Aspire. Read more about the Aspire initiative.
Ohio State Executive MBA program ranks third in surveyOhio State's Fisher College of Business is third in the nation in a Wall Street Journal survey published Wednesday (12/10) that ranks the return graduates receive on their investment in an executive master of business administration degree. Graduates of the Fisher program were found to have a 170 percent return on an average of $66,900 invested in tuition and expenses for the 18-month program. The return on investment figure is based on a graduate-reported median raise of 15 percent initially and a projected salary of $181,718 five years following graduation. Read more >
Deborah Pryce, Ralph Regula official papers to be donated to Ohio StateDocumenting four decades of Ohio history and legislation, the official papers of Congresswoman Deborah Pryce and Congressman Ralph Regula, both retiring from the United States Congress in January 2009, will be donated to Ohio State and will become part of the Ohio Congressional Archives administered by University Libraries. Located in the University Archives Building, 2700 Kenny Road, the Congressional Archives seeks to obtain, process and catalog, and make available to researchers the official papers of members of Ohio’s delegation to Congress. USAC now accepting applications for new membersThe University Staff Advisory Committee is currently accepting applications for the 2009-2012 term. USAC is an advisory committee to the president comprised of 30 staff members from across the university. Every year 10 members roll off the committee and 10 new members are added. New writing course transitions OSU employees into Bridge ProgramContinuing Education is currently recruiting Ohio State employees who want to transition into college through a new Bridge Program course starting winter quarter 2009.
