Wexner Medical Center reaches another construction milestone

 Earlier this month the Wexner Medical Center expansion project reached another exciting milestone in building the future of medicine. The new James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute and Critical Care Center  is now completely enclosed and most of the exterior work completed. Look at how far we’ve come. Talking to your kids about the school shootings

The school shooting tragedy in Newtown, Conn. left people both stunned and questioning how to talk to their children about the tragic event. A number of tips are available at the College of Nursing website from Bernadette Melnyk, university chief wellness officer, who is both a pediatric nurse practitioner and a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Also available at the site is downloadable information for parents on helping your child cope with stress and anxiety.

2012 W-2 statements can be received online

Register to receive an online version of your 2012 W-2 Wage and Tax Statement. Online W-2s are generally available earlier than mailed copies and can be printed, saved, and downloaded into most tax software. Once registered, the W-2 statement is posted on a secure Web site. An email is sent when the W-2 is available. Register by Tuesday (1/15). Anyone who registers will not receive a mailed paper copy of the W-2. Employees who have previously registered do not need to register again.

OSUToday semester break publication schedule

OSUToday is currently following its semester break schedule of Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Daily publication will resume the first week of spring semester. Traffic and parking alert

12th Avenue Parking Garage to reopen Jan. 1

The 12th Avenue Parking Garage will reopen Tuesday (1/1) after being closed the last six months for restoration and maintenance work. Faculty and staff can park in the garage after 4 p.m. with their parking permits. With the opening of the garage, a new payment process for Wexner Medical Center customers, visitors or those without parking permits will be in place. The new payment process utilizes new technology that allows customers to "pay on foot" prior to getting into their vehicle to exit the garage and will allow vehicles to exit the garage more efficiently.

The Student Life Multicultural Center is featuring Yul Kwon, 2006 Survivor winner and host of America Revealed and LinkAsia, as the first speaker for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month on Monday (1/7) at 7 p.m. in the Ohio Union, US Bank Conference Theater. Kwon will deliver "Beyond Math Geeks & China Dolls: Overcoming Stereotypes About Asian Americans to Find Success in the Real World."
