Back to Back Theatre considers the future of intelligence. Comprising a cast of writer-performers with neurological challenges, Australia’s Back to Back Theatre confronts the nature of intelligence in the acclaimed new work The Shadow Whose Prey the Hunter Becomes. Himalayan glacier shows evidence of start of Industrial Revolution

Human beings altered one of the highest peaks in the Himalayas hundreds of years before a person ever set foot there, according to a new study from researchers at the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center.

Howat receives 2020 Distinguished Scholar Award

Ian Howat, professor in the School of Earth Sciences and director of the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center, has received the university's Distinguished Scholar Award. He is among the world’s leaders in the study of glaciers and ice sheets, using a wide range of observations from remote sensing and field studies to understand the dynamics and behavior of large ice sheets and how they respond to climate change.
