2020 Cohort of President's Postdoctoral Scholars

Ohio State has selected 10 scholars as the 2020 cohort of President’s Postdoctoral Scholars. The President’s Postdoctoral Scholars Program (PPSP), supported by the Office of the President, was launched in January 2018 to attract and retain highly qualified early career scholars as postdoctoral trainees. The recipients were selected from a diverse and highly competitive pool of 60 national and international applicants. PPSP awards provide salary support ($50,000 minimum), benefits and $5,000 for research-related and program travel expenses.

Seeking proposals for InFACT Linkage and Leverage grants

The Initiative for Food and AgriCultural Transformation (InFACT) invites you to submit proposals for our Linkage and Leverage seed grant program. Teams of faculty, staff, students and external partners may apply. Proposals for the final cycle are due April 24.

Grants for professional development, career mobility

The Women’s Place is accepting applications for Critical Difference for Women Professional Development and Women of Color Advancement Grants. Grants of up to $1,000 are open to any faculty or staff member continuously employed at Ohio State for at least one year; full-time undergraduate students at the sophomore level and above; and full-time graduate/professional students. Priority may be given to individuals with a record of achievement or engagement that positively impacts diversity on campus. Significant financial need is a key consideration. Apply by April 10.

Slowing the spread of COVID-19: It's not just about you, it's about all of us

The campus community has moved to working and learning remotely, but we can all continue to contribute to proven public health efforts to slow the spread of disease. These measures don't just protect us. They protect our friends, family and the broader community. They protect those most vulnerable to serious complications, and they help preserve our health care providers' ability to respond to the outbreak. Wash your hands often and thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water. Use alcohol hand rub as a backup. Keep your hands off of your face. Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow or a tissue when you sneeze or cough. Throw away your tissue after one use. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Keep a safe 6-foot distance when in any kind of public setting. If you are ill, stay home. If you have a fever and a dry cough, self-quarantine in a separate room with a separate bath if possible and do not share kitchen utensils. If you are seriously ill, seek medical advice. If you are over 60 or have any health conditions that put you at greater risk of respiratory infection (heart conditions, diabetes, etc.), the safest practice is to minimize your potential exposure as much as possible.

Support for Digital Flagship technology offered online

As students adjust to learning remotely, they can use Digital Flagship’s virtual drop-in hours on CarmenZoom for one-on-one help using their technology kits. The Student Mentors on these calls can answer questions on how to use the iPad’s features and work in university-supported apps such as Canvas and the Adobe Spark apps.

Getting around campus

Lane restriction on Medical Center Drive

Beginning March 23 early morning and continuing through March 27 late afternoon, westbound traffic on Medical Center Drive south of Dodd Hall will be reduced to one lane to accommodate utility work. Access to the Davis Medical Research Center will be maintained.

On March 21 early morning to late afternoon, the easternmost parking spaces in the Dodd Lot will be blocked for utility work.
