Ohio State alum Derf Backderf discusses his new Kent State project. Derf Backderf, the former Lantern cartoonist-turned-internationally acclaimed graphic novelist, recently spoke to Wexner Center for the Arts Film/Video Director David Filipi about Backderf’s brand new release, Kent State: Four Dead in Ohio, called “a meticulously researched, emotionally gripping account” of the 1970 tragedy by Publisher’s Weekly. Taking anthropology to the public

After scientific racism propaganda was found on Ohio State's campus in 2016, the Anthropology Public Outreach Program (APOP) was created to help educate the public and the Ohio State community on biological anthropology, human and cultural variation, and connecting the dots between science and humanities.

Fulbright awards facilitate cultural exchange, research and teaching across the globe

Ohio State is proud of our distinguished Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays grant recipients, as well as our numerous visiting international Fulbright awardees. Fulbright awards supported 18 Ohio State students, staff and faculty for international studies, teaching and research opportunities in 14 countries in 2019-20. More than 50 students and scholars joined the Ohio State family this past year through Visiting Fulbright fellowships and grants. These new Buckeyes hailed from 24 countries spanning six continents and brought an international dimension to laboratories and classroom across campus.

Nyseth Brehm awarded residential writing fellowship

Hollie Nyseth Brehm, associate professor in sociology, was awarded a residential writing fellowship at Notre Dame's Institute for Advanced Study. She'll join seven other faculty from diverse disciplines who will each be working on writing a book. Her book will focus on the reentry and reintegration of people who committed genocide in Rwanda.
