Greene applies pharmacology expertise to curing cancer

A passion for pathology first led Jenna Greene to consider the online Master of Science in Translational Pharmacology. Pamela Espinosa de los Monteros in 40 Under 40

Pamela Espinosa de los Monteros, Latin American Studies librarian at Ohio State Libraries, was recently named one of the 2021 class of Columbus Business First’s 40 Under 40. The Columbus Business First’s 40 Under 40 recognizes our region’s “best and brightest young community leaders.” Pamela was selected for this award out of a record number of 253 nominations in 2021. The 29th annual 40 Under 40 event will be held as a virtual awards presentation on May 27. The 2021 Class will also be showcased in the May 28 issue of Columbus Business First.

Garden of Hope open for 2021 season

The mission of JamesCare for Life's garden program is to provide evidence-based nutritional information and education on the benefits of a plant-based diet. Participants will have access to curbside pick-up of fresh produce at the garden and access to virtual nutritional programs from June to October. Registration for orientation is required and space is limited. Zoom orientation will be live on May 1 from 10-11:15 a.m. and available to view throughout the month.

Addressing equity and inclusion in research mentoring

This workshop is designed for mentors of undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs and junior faculty and will be offered on May 20, 3–5 p.m. via Zoom. During this workshop, participating faculty will learn how to acknowledge the impact of conscious and unconscious assumptions, privilege and biases in the mentor-mentee relationship. Through group discussion, case studies and role play, mentors have the opportunity to learn and practice mentoring skills that deal with diversity matters.
