FY22 UNIV Blanket Order Season Processing Time Frame, April 1 through May 31. Blanket Orders are used for transactions that occur very frequently (daily or multiple times a week), have a high variation of product types, have undetermined timing and are not available in Buckeye Buy. Your FY22 UNIV Blanket Orders must be received between April 1 and May 31 to allow for adequate processing time. Slideshow: Controlled Environment Food Production Research Complex

New construction photos show the first signs of progress on the Controlled Environment Food Production Research Complex. The beginning of foundation work has taken place and crews are now installing under slab plumbing in the production greenhouse. The project, located at the Waterman Agricultural and Natural Resources Laboratory, is scheduled to open in September 2022.

Watching meaningful films – those that we find moving and poignant – can make us feel more prepared to deal with life’s challenges and want to be a better person, a new study found. The findings point to one reason that people may choose to see movies that make them sad as well as happy and that may explore difficult subjects that aren’t always uplifting.

Students see climate change through artistic lens

Five Ohio State students received awards for their artistic interpretations of climate change in the Midwest Climate Summit’s Climate Stories competition. Ohio State is a founding member of the summit, which -- with support from Bloomberg Philanthropies -- is a group of more than 20 leading Midwestern higher education institutions, non-profits, local governments and businesses.

PACT selected to be Ohio State's nominee for Magrath and Kellogg Awards

Partners Achieving Community Transformation (PACT) has been selected to be Ohio State's nominee for the 2021 C. Peter Magrath and W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Engagement Scholarship Awards. PACT earned the nomination through a competitive selection process earlier this year. PACT is a historic community reinvestment initiative on the Near East Side of Columbus between the City of Columbus, Ohio State and PACT's anchor partner the OSU Wexner Medical Center, and the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority.

Student Academic Success Research Grants

The Office of Student Academic Success, in partnership with Digital Flagship and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, recently awarded $100,000 in Student Academic Success Research Grants Program funds to Ohio State researchers focused on student academic success. The funded projects focus on improving course success, retention or graduation, with an emphasis on historically underrepresented students and other underserved student groups.

Clinical Trial of a Novel Type of Treatment for Depression with Anxiety. The Ohio State University Department of Psychiatry is currently enrolling in a research study to evaluate a new investigational drug for depression. Participants must be adults who are currently receiving treatment with an antidepressant, but are still experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety. Participants will receive study-related care and study drug (or placebo) at no cost and receive some compensation for their travel. The Mershon Center announces registration is now open for the first-of-its-kind Quantum Social Science Bootcamp July 12-16. The virtual bootcamp is intended to introduce students and scholars at all stages, from across the social sciences, to the potential utility of quantum theory for their work.
