Managing Using Leadership Styles. Are you a leader, manager or both? How do you balance these different styles and skills? To be successful in either, or a mixture, of these roles, you must be able to adapt to the situation, various team members or an event. In order to do this, you must first know and understand what your preferred leadership style is. Manager and leader are two different roles, and as a supervisor, you will have to be successful at doing both.
