The Ohio State Board of Trustees has appointed Kristina M. Johnson, PhD, as the 16th president in university history. Johnson, who currently serves as chancellor of the State University of New York, brings more than 30 years of experience as an academic, business and policy leader. Johnson will begin her tenure as president on Sept. 1, 2020. She will succeed Michael V. Drake, who has served as president since June 2014. Johnson was recommended to the board by the Presidential Search Committee, composed of a selection subcommittee and a 20-member advisory subcommittee of students, faculty, staff and stakeholders.
