Staff Career Development Grant

Staff have an opportunity to further their growth and development through the Staff Career Development Grant. New this year, the available funding for individuals and groups has increased to $1,250 for individuals, $1,750 for groups of 2-10 and $2,000 for groups of 11 or more, and the funds can be used for professional development, education or training costs related to job and/or career goals. Applications are being accepted until Tuesday (7/31).

The Opioid Crisis: How Educators Can Respond

Children of parents addicted to opiates are flooding states' child protection systems. At colleges and universities, some students are affected by the crisis. On Wednesday (7/25) 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Ohio Union, learn how to support children, families and communities caught up in the drug epidemic. Hot topics in human subjects research

The Office of Responsible Research Practices and the Center for Clinical and Translational Science are offering a workshop on current human subjects research hot topics. The session will present regulatory updates, explain Ohio State’s implementation of recent human subjects research changes and review best practices and available resources. While the session will be tailored to medical researchers, anyone preparing IRB submissions is welcome. The workshop will be held Tuesday (7/17) 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the James Cancer Hospital, Room L035, 460 W. Tenth Ave. The session is also available for live stream viewing.

Expecting a baby?

The OSU Health Plan and YP4H encourage expectant mothers with OSU Health Plan insurance to join the Buckeye Baby program. In addition to educational programs and lactation support, the program consists of four live webinar-based discussions that review pregnancy-related topics, offering support from early pregnancy through delivery and postpartum. Ask questions and share ideas with other pregnant moms. Individual telephonic sessions are also available as needed with a RN and Health Coach/Dietitian. Next series begins Tuesday (7/10).
