Emery named chair of Department of Psychology

Charles Emery, professor of psychology and internal medicine, has been named chair of the Department of Psychology, effective Oct. 1, 2018, through June 30, 2022. Along with his dual appointment in the Department of Psychology and the College of Medicine, Emery is a member of Ohio State’s Institute for Behavioral Medicine Research and Food Innovation Center.

Awards and recognition

Ross Heart Hospital completes 500th heart transplant

The Ohio State heart transplant team recently completed its landmark 500th heart transplant at the Ross Heart Hospital. Peter Lee, MD, led the surgery, assisted by Nahush Mokadam, MD, and many others from nursing, perfusion, anesthesiology, critical care and support staff teams. The patient’s cardiologist is Sakima Smith, MD. Ohio State is home to central Ohio's only adult heart transplant program.

The Center for Clinical and Translational Science is hosting an information session on the TL1 Mentored Career Development Award for graduate students and postdocs pursuing training in clinical and translational science.
