How to order Return-to-Campus Kits through eStores. Departments may procure their kits through eStores before staff and faculty return to campus. Please batch your kits to eliminate extra deliveries. Kits are one per person. Staff kits contain one disposable mask, two reusable masks, a thermometer, disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer. (Item number is WK-Staff.) Faculty kits contain all contents of staff kit plus chalk, dry erase markers and microfiber cloth. (Item number is WK-Faculty.) Looking for a COVID-19 early warning

Hard at work on the fourth floor of Cunz Hall, a team of researchers led by Jiyoung Lee, professor of environmental health sciences, is monitoring wastewater to detect the prevalence of COVID-19 on campus and in communities across Ohio.

Inaugural performance of Tent Showcase Series

The School of Music opens its Tent Showcase Series Sept. 11 at 5 p.m., at Browning Amphitheater. Featuring solo and chamber performances by faculty and students, the series will be presented in the outdoor tented venues at the Browning Amphitheater and Stillman Hall throughout September and October and may be enjoyed by masked and distanced campus community members. College of Medicine sets new research funding record

The College of Medicine received more than $300 million in grants and contracts during the 2020 fiscal year, setting a new record in research funding. Total research awards increased about 10%, from $271.8 million for 2019 fiscal year to $300.9 million in fiscal year 2020. The growth is due to innovative investigative projects, the growth of existing strategic areas, the recruitment of prominent new faculty, new industry partner relationships and increased collaboration among health sciences colleges at Ohio State and other academic health centers.

KL2 grant information session

Ohio State's Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) will hold an information session on the KL2 Mentored Career Development Grant Sept. 16 at 11 a.m. on Zoom. The KL2 program supports the career development of junior faculty who conduct either patient-oriented or translational research. The KL2 grant is available for up to three years to provide 75% release time for research and training and research funds.

Open IR consultation sessions

Instructors interested in instructional redesign, currently implementing IR, or completing an IR portfolio are invited to consult with members of the Drake Institute Instructional Redesign team. Consultants will be available to introduce the program, discuss evidence-based strategies and resources, assist in pathway identification and support consideration of classroom or learning assessment techniques.

Getting around campus

 

19th Avenue closures

On Sept. 12 and Sept. 19-20, 19th Avenue will close for crane lifts to Bolz Hall. Pedestrians will be detoured to 18th Avenue. Signage will be in place for deliveries requiring access to the loading docks at Scott Laboratory and the Physics Research Building.
