Out-of-State Educational Activities Policy updates story

Minor revisions to Ohio State's Out-of-State Educational Activities Policy took effect Sept. 15. The updates add clarity and increase the policy’s alignment with National Council of State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA) requirements. Participation in NC-SARA allows Ohio State to offer educational activities outside Ohio, including online course and programs, internships and clinical experiences.

Novel selective estrogen receptor beta grant RFP

Ohio State's Drug Development Institute, College of Medicine and Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences are seeking proposals for a pilot project to generate preclinical data with a novel, selective estrogen receptor beta (ERb or ESR2) agonist WT-IV-012. They are looking to award five to 15 proposals up to $50,000 each for preclinical work that will generate data to support eventual clinical decisions relevant to this agent. Deadline is Monday (9/17).

Sixth Annual Scientific Meeting of CCTS

Abstracts are being accepted for the CCTS Poster Display at the Sixth Annual Scientific Meeting on Tuesday (12/4) in the Ohio Union. This year’s theme is “Teaming up on Science for a Healthier Ohio.” The CCTS Annual Scientific Meeting is a forum where researchers and team members can share their approaches and advances for enhancing the way we conduct science in a rigorous, reproducible and efficient manner.

Free naloxone distribution and training

Overdoses from opioids and other substances take the lives of over 5,000 Ohioans each year. Come to one of four free naloxone distribution and training sessions to receive a free naloxone kit (limited to the first 50 participants per session) and to learn how to administer this life-saving opioid overdose antidote. Attend the first session Wednesday (9/26) or one of the additional dates offered.
