COVID-19 - Get Vaccinated

 

The university strongly encourages all students, faculty and staff to get vaccinated. Walk-in appointments are available on campus and there are Wexner Medical Center locations around central Ohio and even more at retail locations throughout the state.

Once you have been vaccinated, the university is asking employees to voluntarily share their vaccine information by completing this simple form. Even if you were vaccinated through the Wexner Medical Center or your information appears in MyChart, we are asking you to submit through this form so that it can be used in our public health response. This information will be used for contact tracing, isolating/quarantining or other individual case decisions in the event of a COVID-19 exposure, as aggregate data to determine the percentage of vaccinated Ohio State employees, and to drive decisions on public health measures needed for the Ohio State community.

Transfer Credit policy open for university-wide feedback

The Office of Academic Affairs welcomes your feedback on revisions to the Transfer Credit policy. This policy is open for university-wide feedback through Oct. 3 on the University Policies website. Visit the “Policies Under Review” tab to view an overview of the policy changes and the proposed revised policy.

Tuition assistance is available for veterans who are ready to grow as leaders. Tuition assistance is available for veterans who are ready to grow as leaders. You can deepen your self-awareness about leadership and how to lead others in the civilian workforce by enrolling in the Glenn College Certificate in Public and Nonprofit Leadership for Veterans. Ohio State employees can use Faculty and Staff Tuition Assistance to cover program costs. The deadline is Nov. 12 so APPLY NOW for the class that meets Jan. 14 to April 22.

Outreach and Engagement staff grants

The Office of Outreach and Engagement is offering two new grants for university staff. The Outreach and Engagement community programs and event grants provide staff with the opportunity to create and implement community-engaged programs, while the Outreach and Engagement Professional Development grant provides staff funding to further career growth and development. Both grants are for a maximum of $500 and applications are due Sept. 30.

ArcGIS Online Challenge

Have you come across an interactive map on the web and wondered how it was made. Have you heard about GIS (geographic information systems) and wished you could learn more about how it might be useful for your research or teaching? If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, the Spring ArcGIS Online Challenge is for you! This self-paced, 100% online challenge is designed to be completed over the course of five weeks, with two to three hours of work per week. This workshop will be Oct. 4 to Nov. 5 via weekly email prompts.

T&I Professionalization Workshop: Poetry Translation Across Languages

In this online workshop Sept. 29, 5:30-7:30 p.m., seven graduate students from various departments across the Arts and Humanities at Ohio State are presenting samples of their own translations of poetry from and into the diverse languages they are proficient in. Undergraduates, graduate students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members are all welcome. Registration required.
