Celebrating 20 years of the DHLRI

This month marks a milestone for cardiovascular research as we celebrate 20 years of discovery and innovation from the Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute (DHLRI), which opened Oct. 13, 2000. as one of the first freestanding research sites dedicated to the study of the heart and lungs. Systematic review workshop

Join experts from the Fuld Institute for EBP as we navigate systematic review methodologies and critical appraisal skills. Earn CE during this live, online workshop on Oct. 28 and 30. This multi-disciplinary course is suitable for individuals working in the health and social science areas who are considering or planning a systematic review of intervention studies. No experience in systematic reviews is required.

Drake Institute IR cohorts forming now

The Drake Institute offers two professional learning opportunities in Instructional Redesign (IR). The Teaching Information Literacy IR Cohort will be delivered asynchronously via CarmenCanvas beginning Oct. 19 and will provide guidance for strategically and purposefully integrating information literacy into courses. The Carmen Common Sense IR Cohort is a two-session virtual workshop Oct. 20 and 22 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Getting around campus

Closures along Herrick and Tharp

Beginning Oct. 15, John Herrick Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction and Vernon Tharp Street will be closed at Herrick Drive. Access to the College of Veterinary Medicine will be maintained via Coffey Road. Closures will facilitate infrastructure work to support the District Heating and Cooling Loop (DHC). Delays anticipated.
