New reading series at Urban Arts Space
Urban Arts Space joins with the Department of English and Costura Creative to present “From the Language of Ash,” a new reading series organized by poet, essayist and cultural critic Hanif Abdurraqib. To kick off the series, Nabila Lovelace will read selections of her work. It all starts Monday (10/22) at 7 p.m. Books will be available for sale at the event from the Wexner Center Store. Symphony concert with concerto competition winner
The Ohio State Symphony Orchestra will present its second concert of the season Thursday (10/18) at 8 p.m. in Weigel Hall. DMA Concerto Competition winner Wei-Yi Sun will be featured in Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor. The orchestra will also present Tchaikovsky's Polonaise from "Eugene Onegin" and the 1919 version of Stravinsky's "Firebird" Suite.

Participants Needed for Paid Research Studies in the Department of Human Nutrition.
Researchers in the Human Nutrition department are recruiting adults aged 18-50 for two studies. (1) Adults with metabolic syndrome are invited to participate in a clinical trial investigating the effect of potato consumption on gut and heart health. Participants will receive $300 and four weeks of meals for completion of the study. (2) Healthy adults are invited to participate in a clinical trial investigating the effect of green tea catechins on gut health and inflammation. It’s hard to believe but winter is right around the corner! Agricultural Systems Management Club is holding its first-ever Snowblower Clinic to provide preventative maintenance to get your snowblower ready. Drop-off dates are Oct. 22 and 23 7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. Pick-up dates are Oct 25-26 7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. Cost is $40. Services include oil change, spark plug replacement, flushing fuel system and tightening loose bolts.
