COVID-19

Please visit the Safe and Healthy Buckeyes website for the latest information on the university’s response to COVID-19.

COVID-19 vaccine requirement update

Due to the recent federal vaccine mandate, Ohio State is no longer permitted to allow personal exemptions from the COVID-19 vaccine requirement for employees, including student employees. This federal mandate applies to all Ohio State employees and universities and employers across the country that hold contracts with the federal government. Impacted employees who were granted personal exemptions received a message from the university yesterday and must get vaccinated or apply for a personal or medical exemption by Nov. 24.

Out of State Educational Activities policy open for university-wide feedback

The Office of the Chief Information Officer welcomes your feedback on revisions to the Out of State Educational Activities policy. The policy provides guidance to faculty and staff on how to comply with state authorization regulations. Compliance with these regulations allows Ohio State to offer educational activities outside Ohio — including online courses and programs, internships and clinical experiences — and ensures students are eligible to sit for licensure in the state or U.S. territory where they are located. The policy is open for university-wide feedback through Nov. 15 on the University Policies website. Visit the “Policies Under Review” tab to view an overview of the policy changes and the proposed revised policy.
