Selected employee testing program expansion

As part of the university’s continuing commitment to employee health and well-being, the university is expanding the multi-pronged COVID-19 testing strategy to allow for testing employees from selected communities, based on patterns of COVID incidence and risk. The program is voluntary and employees who are eligible receive an email from the university explaining the process. Individuals who participate in the program are not required to self-quarantine while awaiting test results.

You can now buy official Ohio State Maple Syrup. Although it’s from maples, it’s totally Buckeye. It comes from a sugar bush envisioned, started and run by students in Ohio State’s School of Environment and Natural Resources. The nearly 20-acre sugar bush is located at Ohio State Mansfield and specifically at the campus’ EcoLab. The sales help benefit Ohio State students with proceeds funding scholarships for students to work at the EcoLab. Place orders here.

AHA James Harvey Robinson Prize

Associate professor of history Hasan Jeffries' edited volume Understanding and Teaching the Civil Rights Movement was awarded the American Historical Association’s 2020 James Harvey Robinson Prize. The prize is given biennially for the teaching aid that has made the most outstanding contribution to the teaching and learning of history in any field.

Nursing excellence recognized at the Wexner Medical Center

The Wexner Medical Center and Ross Heart Hospital has earned a fourth Magnet® designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Magnet status is the highest recognition a hospital can receive for nursing performance. Roughly 8 percent of all registered hospitals in the country have achieved this status. UH and Ross earned the initial designation in 2005 and its first redesignation in 2009. More info here

Buckeye Dairy Club hosts a dairy cattle heifer showmanship contest hosted at Waterman Dairy Farm. This gives everyone, experience or not, the opportunity to come to the farm, halter train, bond with and show a heifer in a competition. It is a great stress reliever!
