President Kirwan and his wife, Patty, are joined by Snoopy as

for the Peanuts comic strip. The Wexner Center Family Day event
coincided with the Cartoon Research LIbrary's retrospective Peanuts
exhibit, on display through Jan. 19, 2001. The event also featured
excerpts from You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, performed by Ohio
State's Department of Theatre.

Physical Facilities names two new assistant vice presidents

president for management and planning in the Department of Physical

Assistant vice president for management and planning
Teresa M. Stankiewicz has been named assistant vice president for management
and planning in the Department of Physical Facilities. In her new position,
she will be responsible for supervising the prioritization and compilation
of capital projects and repair and renovation project lists at the University.
She will also oversee all business processes of the resource management
division, the University Engineer's Office and the University Landscape
Architect's Office in the Department of Physical Facilities.
Stankiewicz had served as assistant director in the resource management
division since 1991. Prior to her service at Ohio State, she held engineering
positions with Georgetown University, Stanford University and Boston Edison
Co.
A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stankiewicz
is a registered Professional Engineer as well as a member of the American
Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Association of Higher Education Facilities
Officers and the Society of Women Engineers.

Assistant vice president for operations
Kenneth G. Moncayo has been named assistant vice president for operations
in the Department of Physical Facilities. In his new position, he will
be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the building services,
maintenance, roads and grounds, and utilities divisions of the Department
of Physical Facilities. These divisions employ more than 650 staff members,
with a cumulative annual operating budget of more than $50 million. The
operations division also staffs the Physical Facilities service center,
which serves campus customers 24 hours daily.
Moncayo comes to Ohio State from the U.S. Navy. He recently retired
as a commander at the Naval Air Station in Keflavik, Iceland, where he
served as director of physical plant and construction. His service also
included engineering assignments at Navy facilities in Norfolk, Va.; Rota,
Spain; Fort Amador, Panama; Sigonella, Italy; and Washington, D.C.
He holds master's and bachelor's degrees in civil engineering from the
Georgia Institute of Technology as well as a bachelor's degree from the
U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.
Moncayo is a registered professional engineer and member of the Society
of American Military Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers
and the American Public Works Association.
