Susan Hanson, English, was awarded professional development funds by the Council of Graduate Students to present her research at the American Anthropological Association Annual Meeting, New Orleans, Nov. 20-24.

Michael J. Hogan, History was honored with an endowment scholarship established in his name at the Society of Historians of American Foreign Relations (SHAFR) in Chicago on Jan. 3-4.

John N. King, English, was elected to a 5-year term on the MLA executives committee of the division on the English Renaissance.

N.L. McCaslin, Human and Community Resource Development, received the Meritorious Service Award from the University Council for Workforce and Human Resource Education (UCWHRE) in Las Vegas, December 2002.

Vicki Reed and Scott Scheer, Human and Community Resource Development, received the NAE4-HA Communicator Award for outstanding achievement in a video program for the North Central Region at the 2002 NAE4-HA National Conference in Norfolk, Va., Oct. 30.

Carole Rogal, History, emeritus, received the gold medal of The Order of Freedom of the Republic of Slovenia at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies, Pittsburgh, Nov. 21-24.

Scott Scheer, Human and Community Resource Development, was inducted into Epsilon Sigma Phi National Honorary Extension Fraternity on Dec. 3 at the Annual Ohio Extension Conference.

Brad Steinmetz, third-year theatre graduate student, was selected as winner of the USITT's 2003 Rose Brand Award for Scene Design, at the 43rd United States Institute for Theatre Technology Annual Conference, Minneapolis, March 2003.

Will Waidelich, Curriculum Materials Service, is one of six individuals who received the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) Outstanding Cooperation Award at the NAAE Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Dec. 13.

Susie Whittington, Human and Community Resource Development, was elected Secretary of the American Association for Agricultural Education (AAAE).
